Sara has been collecting Christmas decorations into her mane. I didn't think I 'd be able to get them out without resorting to the scissors, but thanks to a pocketful of carrots she stayed still while I teased them out. Then we had a short walk on the leadrope before putting her back in the field

Sara has been on her own in the small field since Imshi crossed the rainbow bridge.  Today I moved her to join her friends the Soay sheep. 

Goodbye Old Friend

Friday 19th May was a sad day. I had to say goodbye to my old friend Imshi. He was 33 and had been ill last August and pulled through but not put the condition back to see him through the winter properly. We were hoping once he got back on the good grass he would pick up but it was not to be. Such a shame for him not to be able to enjoy the summer after making it through the hard months. We were together since he was 4.

We've got to that time of year again when Imshi starts losing condition. Just in time for the holiday people in the caravan site to report him to the RSPCA. He's 32 this year, but still happy doing his own thing with the occasional poddle round the village so he still feels useful.

Back in the winter field, waiting for their feed
